The LCC Graduate Degree Programs accept approximately 25 full-time students each year. Applications for the Digital Media Ph.D. program are due January 15th for admission for the following fall semester. Applications for the Digital Media M.S. and HCI M.S. programs are due February 1st for admission for the following fall semester which begins in mid-August. The application includes a work sample and the results of the GRE test.
There is no single standard profile for admission. Students come from a variety of educational backgrounds and have diverse intellectual and creative objectives. Many have significant work experience in a professional field. Students come from such fields as acting, anthropology, architecture, communications, computer science, engineering, English, film studies, graphic design, history, journalism, law, library science, management, marketing, philosophy, social work, technical writing and television production.
The programs welcome a socially diverse student body from across the United States and around the world. Since the program was established in 1993, about 30% of students have been international (including students from China, Japan, South Korea, India, Canada, Uruguay, Turkey, Austria, United Kingdom, France, Switzerland, Nigeria and Kenya.) Students whose second language is English must submit TOEFL scores.
